Looks like a 1987 Carrera Cabriolet, according to http://www.adelgigs.com/911vin%20numbers.shtml

for an 87 it probably has the 231 HP vs the 217 and originally came with no cat or O2 sensor (I believe). Upon entering Canada, it may have been fitted with the cat and O2 sensor to meet emissions standards, so have a look and see what you have. The Euro's had a pre-muffler in place of a cat. If you're not sure what you're looking at, snap a pic and post it. Check behind the drivers side rear wheel for either the cat or pre-muffler.

The above poster is correct, the car is an RoW '87 Cabriolet. Check the underside of the trunk lid for a white sticker. If you have the sticker look for option "M 298", which is the factory installed unleaded fuel prep. Without M 298 your HP is 170kW, with M 298 your HP drops to 160kW (same as USA/Japan).

I'm sorry!

DIN hp = kW divided by .736
DIN = 170/.736
DIN = 231

SAE hp = DIN divided by 1.014
SAE = 231/1.014
SAE = 228

DIN = 160/.736
DIN = 217

SAE = 217/1.014
SAE = 214
