Museum/Factory information

We have arranged a factory tour at 10 a.m. Monday, September 7 and will see the Museum Sunday, September 6.

Does anyone have a recommendation on a hotel for Sunday night--within walking distance, hopefully one that has parking for the rental car until the tour is over Monday at noon? A good restaurant?

Stuttgart Hotel

I stayed at the ACHAT Hotel Stuttgart. Wollinstrasse 6, 70439 Stuttgart.
Phone: 0711-820080
www.achat-hotels.com
Five minute walk to the Museum & Factory.
I went in June and the room was 45,00 euros & 5,00 for parking in the garage.
Mcdonalds has all the free parking.
Free wifi.
Went to the Museum in the morning and then went back in the afternoon and they replaced some of the cars with cars that can be seen thru a window from the Museum snack bar. Don't know how often this is done.
Enjoy!

Roger,

We have had repeated good stays at the Novotel in Zuffenhausen.

Novotel Stuttgart Nord. See Traveler Reviews.

Great breakfast included, 10 minute walk to the factory and museum.

And I agree with Sigurd (The Mercedes Museum).

Have a fun visit.

Gerry

We stayed in a city called Herrenberg. Nice hotels and a very fine old southern German city centre. Recommended. It is approx 45 south, south west of Stuttgart. Try also to find time to visit the new Mercedes museum.

The museum has a few places to eat. The food was pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm leaning toward ACHAT Hotel Stuttgart; it was one of the first I found information on. And the "walking distance" is a big plus.

Having a heck of a time finding information on Novotel Stuttgart Nord. It's almost like they've fallen off the map. Perhaps the hotel was sold?

With the tour Monday morning, and flying out of Munich Tuesday, we're going to spend Monday afternoon wandering around Germany...the "long way" to Munich. Suggestions for the afternoon would also be welcome.

+1 cheap, clean, friendly and their restaurant was quite ok (local food). The immediate surroundings of the museum are uneventful but that makes the visit even better.

Yup...

I originally lined up the tour on Monday, since we fly out Tuesday (we're actually going to be in northern Italy for most of the trip. Then I "discover" the museum hours...hence the trip back north on Sunday.

Actually it will work out fine. I'm actually looking forward to "wandering around" a bit.

And that's the really wierd part. I try booking (it will take you through Travelocity) and it comes up with...Hampton Inn and Suites Richmond IN

And the Novotel home page shows nothing in Stuttgart.

Oh well...

Roger,

As per the attached screenshots, the hotel name has changed.
Knowing it's exact location, I was able to find it on google Earth.

If by some chance, you can get on the bus to Weissach, Do it!

Weissach, and the Autobahn were the best part of our Factory delivery.

Have a nice, no, a great trip.

Cheers,

Gerry
