Need help removing sticker/decals

Hi all,
I'm doing a full body strip to bare metal, and came upon the sticker at the driver side door jamb(?) with the date of manufacture on it. How do I take this off, safely? I've tried using the razor blade technique...didn't work too well. Or is it way too old for me to do it? Could I order a duplicate of it somewhere? Thanks!

It's not coming off- they made 'em to self destruct when tampered with. This was made back in car-thieving heyday...

It is possible that PCNA could get a reissue, but it would be difficult- I imagine you'd have to supply documentation on par with or exceeding that of an IRS field audit. Make some phone calls to them (PCNA, not IRS), perhaps ask Bruce Anderson also.

Good luck, let us know what happens,

Funny you ask, just yesterday i was at the body shop were they are paiting my car and that was one subject, to remove it must likely with the air tool brush type,to order it you must have the tittle or registration of the car and your drivers lic,(foto copys)and thru your local porsche dealer and $100 US Dollars and 2 months later you will have it,that simple so i was told, hope this helps

Mask it off carefully...you will destroy it if you try to remove it. After the paint job, clean up any excess paint around the edges with a single edged razor blade and/or some mild solvent like acetone.

You guys are Da bomb! I too have wanted to know how to go about getting my D.O.M. decal and sure enough I find the answer by looking on the posts. I guess I'll pay Mr. Brumos a visit and $100.00. next week! Thanks for the help.

Thanks guys for the info. $100! Ha! My dealer can kiss my ass. I don't think so! I really want to get down to the metal, though. I have to make sure there is NO existence of rust. Does having this sticker really matter?

Juan, since your car is at the body shop, is it almost ready to get back on the road?

Dave-I checked with Bruce Anderson, he doesn't know either.

Yes Ruf,she is painted and it looks like a babys ass SHINNEY,3 coats of primer,3coats of paint,4 coats of clear, buffed twice, since the car is been there so lond the owner will paint the entire undercoat free,he is leaving to LE-MANS today and will not allow me to take the car until he is happy i guess he likes the old car a lot, thats what they call it at the shop, but im in no hurry from there she is going to the other shop finally i make up my mind,we will install 3.3 pistons and cylinders, headers, intercooler and 1.0 bar of boost so i figure the car be down the rest of the year.I keep you inform
