Removing AC for weight loss and height change...
Aside from the obvious benefit of lost weight, I am curious as to what I might see at the rear of my Targa when I yank the AC stuff out back there (compressor, condenser, mounting hardware). Will I see a noticeable ride height change? I want to realign, anyway, mainly for camber, so no problem there, but I am definitely leaning toward removing that stuff. If it'll get me even a quarter inch I'd be happy. Surely some of you have taken note of what I can expect. I'm also thinking the additional airflow up through the tail won't hurt for cooling, though not really necessary. Lar

your weight loos from what ive seen is almost 100lbs but its spread out comp and brakets in rear, hoses (very heavy dont leave in just a waste) run front to back fans etc, maybe noticed but ?? some buy go to great lengths to drop pounds
try fiberglass hood and decklid then look at fiberglass door, cut the hoop go cabrio and add a cage lose the glass (that aquarium has got to weigh 50 lb itsself) hell people dill their shift lever and hand brake even saw one guy drill his door handles they llok cool he lost like 14 grams and spent hrs on the mill good luck, best of ![]() |
