sunroof seals

can anyone describe "secrets" on installation of new seals? overlap, gluing, sequence, other critical issues, Pics would be great. secrets= e.g. making sure that you leave enough space between the back rubber seal and the rise in the lid to accept the small beaded/seal so that it sets flush with the top of the lid. most interested in the way the small beaded /seal finishes. straight stop, bends down, or ?? and how do you keep from getting glue all over everything?

cut a bit of the inner nylon out of one of the two pieces where they will meet. about a 1/2" gets em to lay flat as they are pushed together when closed
