Ultimate Museum Photo Thread--Add Museum Photos Here

Below are some photos from the Porsche Museum taken in July. I thought that since the display cars rotate, it would be nice for all of us to add photos after visiting, that way we'll eventually get a pretty thorough collection.

Yep. I was surprised myself... Make sense, though, probably solid drive dynamics and better fuel economy.

More info on the long, red 911??? Funny that it has fog light grills minus the lights. It looks familiar, but brain farts keep me knowing...

I'm still trying to learn some of the early history. What is the 4th car in the first post?

Byron--the long wheelbase 911 was a design exercise to see what a 911 with true 4 seat capacity would look like. Not good, in my opinion.

Regarding the 4th car from the top, I haven't got a clue. Sorry. Perhaps someone else does...

Do you happen to have any high res shots of the blue Sunoco 917? My client is Sunoco and it would make a sweet wallpaper for my laptop.

Thx.

Great pictures of great cars. They must have drained all the oil from the cars.

Some of the cars have drip pans under them.

Porsche Panamerica. One-off design study from late-80s-early-90s, based on the 964 Carrera 4. Sort of contemporary with the 959. Presented to Ferry Porsche as a gift from the Faktory. Semi-open top coupster thing-a-ma-bob. Showed some of the design ideas that influenced the 993.

Reminds me of a Myers Manx crossed with a 928. Probably would haul ass in the bush. But . . . probably never even got dirty. Hhhh.
