Adding power seats to an '86 Carrera

I'm looking at an '86 Carrera that had a power driver's seat as a factory installed option, but a manual passenger seat. If I buy the car I'd like to replace the after-market manual seats that are currently installed with a set of OEM seats. I've found a nice set of OEM seats to use as replacements, but both have power adjustments. Did the factory provide wiring for both passenger and driver's seats even if only the driver's seat was ordered with power, or would I have to run wiring to power the passenger seat? I searched the forum archives but couldn't find an answer to this particular question...

I thought all 911's built after 86 had them under the seats, but if you are physically looking at the car why not look under the carpet/ seat area for the connectors (both sides) ? They should be little black rectangular plugs with about 8 female connections on it. You will also notice it has a Mercedes Benz symbol on the piece..

See pic in this post..

Unknown plug under passenger side

I stripped mine and low and behold found a plug under my manual seat. The plug was as described by 83-911-SC and it was tucked in the seat rail.

Logan,

Take a look down there. It should be a six pin plug designed to plug right into a receptacle on the seat itself. You may also have a situation where the driver plug exists and the passenger does not. It depends on how the car was ordered but I'll bet that driver is there and a good chance on the passenger seat as well.

Best of luck,

Scott

Gregg,

Thanks for the link to the photo. Unfortunately, I looked at the car about a week ago and didn't think to look under the seat for the connector. But I'll ask the seller to take a look and let me know what he sees. Thanks again.

Thanks, Scott. The car was originally ordered with only a power driver's seat, but I'm hoping that the power connector is there for the passenger seat as well. Fingers crossed...

My 86 has the power driver seat / manual passenger seat and there is an unused plug on the passenger side.
