Yah. I just doublechecked. The emissions sticker says that itmeets all EPA and CA emmissions standards for the year 1981.
Damn. For a second i thought maybe I made a bad assumption |

More Hp................
Since you have to keep the engine looking like a stock setup, that eliminates the easy choices. How 'bout adding a nitrous oxide setup? If installed carefully you could hide the engine pieces behind the CIS and still get a major "kick" when you wanted it.
Good luck on your project!

You could go with the Bitz EFI kit http://bitzracing.com/ take a look at the website it can be installed such that it will pass for stock to even the trained eye to a certain extent and the reported hp increase for a 3.0l is 23 hp on the dyno.

Strip it! Lose the A/C, all the junk-in-the-trunk, 964 cams (and while you're at it, RSR seals on your rocker shafts just because), cat bypass (except for a week every 2 years), flowmaster muffler (lighter than the stock banana slug). Then for fun, 23/28mm torsion bars, solid engine and tranny mounts, WEVO shifter, strut brace, turbo tie rods, Bilstein sport shocks in the rear, Koni adjustables in the front, harder bushings.... You should be happy with the go-kart like feeling when you're done.

Put a cat bypass pipe on it and a sport muffer. Tune it and put it on a dyno to check the Air Fuel Ratios. You can put the cat back on for SMOG time very two years.
SC's with a good suspention, tires, and a little lightening can be extreamly fast on the track. Never going to be much of a drag racer. |
