Flocked again!
Driving my '85 Carrera to a wedding this weekend all dressed up and turned on the a/c because it actually gets cold. After running for a while this sticky black foam came shooting out of the center vent and flocked us. Needless to say it was a mess and the stuff didn't want to come off our clothes. Only positive was I was rubbing my date down in a church parking lot!
I am assuming this is a seal for the vent tubes coming loose, or is there a damper door that shuts with a foam seal. Anyone seen this Gong Show before? |

It could be some old stuff sitting in the bottom of the evaporator box. Try removing the passenger side floor board and sticking a shop vac in the opening there. You might be able to suck out whatever is laying around. Also use the shop vac on the vents with the A/C going.

I was on my way home after buying the SC driving at highway speed when I reached down and turned on the A/C just to see what would happen.
I ended up with two eyes full of dust and crap. It must have been a loooong time since it had been run. Not fun....
