SC suddenly missing, erratic idle
I got the SC back on the road after sitting for 3 months (brake system rebuild/upgrade), so my favorite wife and I drove it to dinner. It ran great on the 10 miles to dinner, a/c good and cold, no problems.
But after sitting for an hour, when we restarted it the idle was under 600 and lumpy. It stalled at one light when I forgot to heel-toe. The evening was cool enough that we had the windows down and I could hear the telltale popping in the exhaust when I lifted off the throttle to slow down. I've put 12 gallons of fresh gas in with no effect and the only obvious vacuum leak I've found is the "blue" vacuum line to the distributor was cracked; no change when repaired. Our son was hoping to take the car this weekend, but I want it running better for him (he's not as mechanically inclined as me). I have a new fuel filter, dizzy cap and rotor that I haven't installed. Suggestions?

favorite wife? you have 2?
![]() sounds like it went lean, like from an air leak. did you check all the hoses? check fuse 18(?) for the relay under the seat. check for plug wire that came off, or a fouled plug. check timing and operation of dizzy advance/retard since you replaced a vac line. make sure frequency valve is clicking. just a few ideas.
