Found this add in the local paper:

Worth checking out? Those flairs should really help the value :( Thanks, Troy |

Nahh.
It's only 2 wheel drive:rolleyes: |
i would go and look...you never know...
|
Sounds like a realist, but the "obo" leaves quite the "wiggle room"...At least worth a look.
|
The "convertible" might also be a targa.
|
I'm expecting it is a Targa. I will try to check it out this weekend. If its interesting, I'll get the VIN and engine number to find out what we might have.
Thanks, Troy |
do you know many people call the targa convertible?

Well, technically speaking, a Targa is a "convertible." And so is a "cabriolet."
|
sounds like the seller doesn't have a strong familiarity with the car. It could either be a diamond in the rough, or a "Tweaker Special".
I'd have a look at it. Heck, it's a '71 for $8K obo. |
Maybe it is a soft window converted targa? Go look and see whats what and report back!

Hi Guys,
All I can say is "yikes!". It was a 71 but the guy had put a full "930" body kit on it, which he was very proud of. I didn't want to mess with it. Troy |
PICTURES MAN, we need pictures
|
I couldn't bring myself to photograph the carnage. Too graphic.
At least its a steel conversion. Says the engine has 15K miles after a rebuild. I think he bought it on a whim in Hollywood. The cost of making a poor example nice is daunting. He just wants out. Nice guy. Troy |
Cars.com stroke Washington Post online make those insertions "obligatory" (convertible and 2WD) in their system. I bet it's just a Targa with flairs. Sounds like a good deal to me...
