Just installed WM front sway bar - questions

Installation went fine, in fact easier than expected. I set the adjustment as per the instructions, but I want to make sure I didn't really mess anything up:

1. front/back movement of the drop links doesn't seem very much - total adjustment would be maybe an inch, probably less, sliding along the vertical shaft. Is this right?

2. and may play into #1, I set it all up with the front up on jack stands. That's the way Wayne instructs in 101 Projects, but I read in a few places here on the board that the drop links should be set with the car on the ground.

I've got a track day on Monday when I'll do some fine-tuning, but I do need to make sure the car's at least safe in the meantime, as I plan on driving it over the weekend, including on the highway. Is it at all possible to screw up the installation badly enough as to make the car unsafe?

Thanks for indulging what may be some stupid questions :)

Since I gather you have adjustable drop links, you want to set those with the car on the ground. And someone or something simulating your weight in the driver's seat, if you want to go the extra mile here. Probably be OK without doing that.

However, no amount of screwing this up will make your car undriveable.

Ok, thanks for clarifying!

With car on ground, make sure there is no pre-load on the drop links. As a start, make sure the drop links are connected at the same length from the end of the bar, then go from there to fine tune.

Ok, got it set to the default setup and had a nice long test drive. WOW, what a difference! Even without fine-tuning it at all, it feels so much better in corners. I've got a track day Monday where I can get it fine-tuned.
