Strange brake disk ware/pattern.
Hi
Last winter I upgraded to Carrerra 3.2 brakes, new disks. On the first trackday out I (probably) overheated the disks cause they warped. Yes, really warped as some say its a myth, I checked the run out with an dail gauge. I then got the disks turned straight while on the car. Then they where grate for one and a half trackdays. On the last half of the second trackday I got vibrations again, not as bad a when they warped but really anoying.... Now they look like this, what has happened? There are almost equaly spaced spots on both sides of the rotor and on both front rotors. It looks like som kind of transfer from the pads, which are stock pads, I think... ![]() ![]()

Pad transfer, yup.
You're using stock pads at the track? Time to upgrade to a pad that can stand up to the heat.

Stock pads has held up fine until now, but better pads are on the short list.
Are the pad transfer a result of overheated pads?

Don't keep your brakes applied when you stop after coming off the track. Let it roll a few feet every few seconds or put it in gear and shut the engine off. This will keep the hot spot moving and not alter the metallic structure of the rotor or cause pad transfer.

I'm usually very careful with the brakes on the cool down lap and when I stop, I always leave it in i gear.
Will this pad transfer remove itself with time? I going on to the last trackday of the year tomorrow...

Another thing:
Why would the transfer be in spots like this on the disks or it that "normal"?
