No trying to start one either and I apologize if I started one. In my first post, at the end, I asked that it would be great if you would post more info. about your car and what you have done as this would help out. This would let us know how involved you are with your car. The reason I asked if you had the MFI tools is because it would give us an idea as to if you have worked on mfi. If you do not have them and this issue just appeared out of no-where then I doubt it's a mixture issue and I should have been more clear.
I am not even close to having the experience that Grady and others have on this board, but I’m not talking out of my ass as I have worked on my 72 for 18 years, and have adjusted that damn pump/etc for 15.
Good luck with your car and report back with what fixed it.

still need help!!!!!

Since I last posted.
fuel cutoff does not work-so it can't be that.
Thermostat cleaned and hot air getting to it.
Tried to lean it and enrich it both did not help either way.
cleaned and balanced air screws and stacks.
Pump seems to travel smoothly with the right amt of travel.

Anymore ideas??

Disconnect the wire to the big electric solenoid on the MFI pump. Insulate the free wire as it gets 12 V power periodically
I had this problem where my car just died a couple of times when running and then would start right back up after down shifting. One day I went to start it and it started ok as ususual but died immediately and then would not start again. It ended up being this wire as Grady mentioned grounding out. Insulated it and I was back in business.

I think I'd start by cleaning out the fuel filter at the tank and then changing the big filter at the engine. Then valves, dwell, timing. After checking plugs and doing a leakdown.

there is no power to that wire so it can't be that. I don't think the speed switch is working. Both fuel filters have been changed. I have not checked the dwell or timing, although the car runs good when running.
