Northern Colorado Drive

The Porsche Breakfast Club of Denver (PBC) is planning a northern Colorado drive on the 10th of October. Here is the route and details:

(No time set yet, but probably around 8) Starting at Ted's place (287 and 14) up the Poudre. A stop at Cameron Pass for some pictures, then on to Walden.

Brunch/Lunch in Walden at the River Rock Cafe, then home. Denver boys going back Rt. 125 through Rand/Granby/Berthoud Pass. The Northern CO folks can go down Rt. 125 also, then go back through Rocky Mtn National Park.

It looks like some Pelican regulars have done this drive in the past ('07 Phun Run Northern Colorado Phun Run). Come hang out with the PBC and lets have some fun before the cars (or at least some) go in the garage for the winter.

If you plan on coming send me a PM with your name, number of people and your car details. I will pass the information to Erik so we can make sure the restaurant is ready for us.

You can also join the PBC to keep up with this drive and other activities by going to Yahoo Groups and searching for the Porsche Breakfast Club (porschebreakfastclub : Porsche Breakfast Club). Set up a Yahoo account for free and request to be added to the group at our group page. Erik Behrendsen our club president will approve you (assuming you ask nicely and share pictures of your car) and you can receive notices for all club activities. We are starting to plan some museum and car collection trips for the winter months, it should be fun.

I am a Rennlister/ Early S Registry regular so this is my first Pelican Post.

Thanks,
Chad Cox

Porsche Crest Sticky request

Chad:

From time to time the Pelican moderators will put a temporary sticky on threads promoting events like this. You can ask them and see if they'll do it. Dropping Grady's name may help.

I won't be able to make this one, but you guys are going to have an amazing trip. The high country is outstanding right now, all golds and reds in the valleys with the aspen changing, and a nice coating of the season's first real snowfall up high.

Thumbs up to all the Colorado Pelicans for getting out and getting 'er done!

Thanks Roger!

Dear Moderators,
Grady says please make this post a sticky so we can get lots of Porsches to show up at our event. This event is "Grady Approved".
Thanks,
Chad

In looking at the forecast for this Saturday, I decided that it would likely not be good weather for going up and over Cameron Pass in a Porsche with sticky summer tires in the middle of a snow storm. So, being able to take off today in our excellent weather (+ 60 deg and sunshine), my wife and I did the cruise up and over the Pass to Walden where we ate lunch at the River Rock Cafe in the Antlers Inn. Coming out of the Cafe and seeing my wife standing across the street between a speed yellow Porsche and a speed yellow sub shop, I had to take the photo attached.

Hope the weather forecast turns out to be wrong and that anyone doing the drive on Saturday has good weather.

Jim

Excuse me for saying this, but:

1) I've seen guys fuzz out their license plates before, and I've seen married guys fuzz out their girlfriends' faces, but your wife?

2) the bathrooms at the Moose Creek Cafe may spoil your appetite.

Sorry...

Frank (if I can make it, and an apology is needed, I'll be in the noisy white 912)

1) You're excused.

2) Been there and seen that. That's why we ate at the River Rock Cafe.

Jim

PS: Unfortunately, there does not seem to be much in the way of nice Fall colors left on the way over Cameron Pass at this time.

Erik called off the drive for the PCB. Not sure if anyone else is planning to go. I doubt it will be possible at this point.
