Bodywork Question
Hi Everybody,
My 1983 911 SC got slightly damaged whilst parked this week. As the paintwork is still factory original, I would rather try to get the lid straightened & not repainted. Is that realistic? What should I do where the paint has come off? It's hidden from sight. The bonnet has a few stone chips & there are a few small marks here & there so eventually I will get a bare metal respray, however I am not in a hurry. From experience new paint is rarely as good as the original. Thanks in advance, Stephen[img] Last edited by Stephen William; 10-08-2009 at 09:17 AM.. Reason: problem with photos |

if it were my car...i would buy a used lid and have it paint matched. is your car black? if so, should be easy to match. plus, I dont know if you can straighten that out. who knows, you might be able to find a factory black lid for sale...
good luck

I have to pay, no damage insurance.
Finding a black lid would be very good news! |

No way to fix that without doing paint work. Even the part that is hidden will have to at least be pulled out and would require paint.
