The answer to the question never asked! RSR Targa!MORE PICS ADDED

Earlier this year I purchased a 1978 911 targa which had been converted into a quick track car. This vehicle has a 3.2 from a 1989 911 which has been switched to carbs! This car makes some amazing noises and pulls strong! The motor was built by Charlie Murphy in VA who is known for some great motors! Trans has been rebuilt and vehicle has a cage. suspension has been fully developed as well! The vehicle had a respray a while back and
needs some tlc in the paint department!
I have started amassing the parts and have begun a long hood RSR conversion!
It will be a shame to give up my carbon fiber short hood! I will post that for sale in the classifieds.

I am still up in the air about some things and would like to share some of my pics as the transformation begins!
I would also like to see some more backdate pics as well so feel free to share!

The front fenders are used rennspd parts as will be the rest of the parts will be new rennspd. Need to get the hood and bumpers and rear flares. Duck was from performance prod sale. Hardware from our host!
The flares on the front fenders do not match so additional glass work is needed.

Couple more things. Bodyshop redid the fitment on the front area to address the gaps. They also installed a tow hook in the front with the new lower front. Have to take some new picts to show those updates...

One question: How would it look and how hard would it be to remove the trim on the rockers?

TIA,

Scott

Hey sbrown.nw
here are some pics of a rocker delete. Easy to do but there will be holes that need to be filled and painted. I was a 30 min job tops to remove the rocker trim.
The oil lines are more visable as well if you dont mind the look.

What about doing a partial delete as just removing the long black rubber trim on the rocker cover but keep the rocker cover? Is this even possible and if so, does anyone have picts that have done this?

TIA,

Scott

Removing the rubber would not look that good.
I like the look now, but since this whole car is being repainted I will do it right and weld the holes.

Juice, you should not be looking at pelican while you are on such a great vacation!
My project will end up as a juice meets Jack Olsen car! I have picked my color too!

is it possible to put a rs style rear bumper on a 78 sc?

I know everything is possible. Wondering if it can be done easily without cutting and welding?

You need to cut the sheetmetal under the reflector pannel for an early bumper to work

the teardown has begun! Last night took entire nose off what a pain! Hopefully cutting and adding rear flares on Sunday.
