RPM reading varies with lights.....
Hi guys,
One of the few things I have yet to sort out with my '73T is the tach reading. Sometimes it reads spot on and other times it seems to top out no higher than around 3k behaving as if the whole RPM range is compressed with 3k being the limit. Today I had it out early and noticed that when I pulled out my headlight switch the RPM's dropped by about 1k RPM's. It was very repeatable and obviously just a display issue. Any ideas as to what might be the cause. Ground issue? Something else? Went to a detailing clinic today and they snapped this shot. Not the best quality but I like what it conveys

check the alt output at the battery with the engine running.
