Porsche Crest Fuchs wheel question...

I know this topic has been reviewed before...I have a 76 912E (911S body), with the original 14" Fuchs. I've been wanting to change to a larger size. I Found a set of 15x7" Fuchs which came of a 944, (part# 911361020 AS1062), tires are 215/60 r15.

If anyone can provide insight as to whether or not they are a direct fit or require spacers, that would be great!

*If anyone has pics of there 911S or 912 with 15"Fuchs and, suggested tire size, I'd love to see them!

Thanks!

Andy

I did not know that a '76 came with 14" Fuchs from factory... My guess is you already have 15"
To be sure if the "944" Fuchs will fit, check offset and backspacing. But they probably will.

And as you said, it has been reviewed before.... searchbutton is your friend

The 76 912E often came with 14" Fuchs. The wheels you posted should fit, but the tires (215/60) may cause a rubbing problem on the fender unless you are at stock, U.S. road height for the 912E (they tended to ride higher than the 911of that year.) Typical narrow body cars will max out at 205 tire width.

Here's a chart that shows the different offsets of Fuchs wheels.

If the Fuchs came from an early 944, up to (I think) '86.5, they should fit.

If from later 944's, they'll need spacers.

However, I'm pretty sure that 944 Fuchs were only on the early cars. Later cars did not have Fuchs.

Duh, sorry JR. Smaller offset (assuming the same wheel width) means closer to the fenders. I hope that's maybe less wrong than my other post.

Thank you all for the link!

I have a good feeling that they will fit, but if some one has already done it, it would save me the trial and error stage! Specifically for tire size as I have lowered the ride height.

As far as I know, the car came standard with steel wheels from the factory and the dealer could add the Fuchs(14") prior to delivery as an option. Again, just what I heard...

I've attached a couple of pictures of my car to show the look of the current wheels. I'm quite happy with the 14" only I would prefer the the look of the slightly larger rim.

Andy
