When I said the thread pitch was 1mm and you dont need a feeler guage to know what .1 is everyone basically boo-hooed it because they were concerned about elephant foot wear, the back side method, the feeler guage, etc etc.
The real fact is, the mathematics works and if I have a doubt on a single rocker, I can put the dial guage and fixture on and check it. You do need the rocker assembly dry, sprayed with carb cleaner, for the best adjustment though. Bruce |

Hi Guys,
I thought I should chime in, as I just returned from vacation. (No internet on the ocean last week...) I make these tools, and they are based on an idea that was posted on the 964 board about a year ago. The basic story is that the pins are set at 36Deg. apart, so that turning the screwdriver that amount results in a .1MM change in the threaded adjuster. It's that simple. I do recommend that you check your adjustment with a feeler gauge. This tool helps be consistent, and it speeds up adjustments by helping you stay at the same place when you tighten the jam nut. The full story is here: Porsche Valve Adjusting Screwdriver I have gotten all your recent orders, and I will pack them for the mail to go out tomorrow. Thanks for ordering. I have a few left. If I get many more orders, I will consider doing another run. I make them in my father's machine shop when I go visit. Drop me a note if you have any questions. Thanks! |
Can I get a little finders fee? BTW just set my valve and it only took 30 min! + another 3 hours to clean and paint the covers!!! cool tool....
