Little drips-
No not in the rear view mirror...
Oil drips from the nyloc nuts on my lower valve covers. It always has. Even with brand new nuts and seal washers I get little drips. The engine is a 1969 S with new style valve covers. Is this oil coming down the studs from the case and flowing out the nylon? No seal washer could prevent this leaking if it's come down the stud. Aren't the stud holes in the case blind? Does anyone know of a good fix? Do I need to remove the studs and glue them into the case? If so- what would I use as sealant? I don't expect to eliminate all drips and park on a white rug- But less dripping is GOOD! |

I have the same problem. Happened prior to my switch to turbo covers on the lower valves, and it is still happening. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

I'll be interested to hear what the experts say, although I think 1/using any kind of sealant is a kludge, and 2/it could be the result of improper (either too loose or too tight) tightening of the valve covers, depending on what kind of gaskets you're using.

I had this problem a while back:
Help - My nuts are bleeding! Any issues with silicone gaskets? Problem was solved with silicone valve cover gaskets.

VC stud oil drips
Gene have the lower covers milled perfectly flat, install new gaskets / nuts and washers and make sure you do not overtighten them. This worked for me.
