Euro vs US - whats the difference?
Just bought a 78 911 SC Targa, Euro (imported by a Capt Fuller - kind of cool data to have on the VIN plate). Looking through a lot of material (restoring 911, 101 projects, tech manuals, internet, etc) and I am having some challanges discerning any major differences. Anyone know of a good resource that would lay it out for me or know of anything I need to be critically aware of when I start tearing down and restoring? I have the Bentley book on order hoping that will be a good resource.

The differences are principally cosmetic.ie lights, bumpers(fenders). Alot of 80īs US cars came with CATS and 218 bhp where the europeans had no CAT and 231. The rest is pretty much standard

US used 930/04 180hp@5500, 175 ft-lb@4200, 8.5 w/ cat and requires 91RON unleaded gas RoW used 930/03 w/ the same specs as the US but w/o a cat and could use 91 RON leaded gas trans was the samt 915/61 in both when I compared my RoW C3 to US versions the main differences were in lights, door guard beams and glass, all had to be changed and DoT certified to license the car here
