Did anybody catch Bruce A's responce to a question in the latest PANO, from a guy asking about front suspension stuff on an 84 911?
He mentions that 914 A arm bushings (which are available separately from Porsche unlike our 911 bushings) can be used on the front of the 911. Huh...did not know that. Sounds like a pretty good option, certainly better than popping $350 for a replacement A arm. I wonder if that is how the guys at Smart Racing are rebuilding A arms. They advertise that they will rebuild your arm for $250 or something with factory parts. Anybody ever try this? Anybody have both a 914 and a 911 that can confirm the relative size of the parts? Just get the Weltmeister "street hardness" polygraphite bushings. They are cheap and alot better than stock rubber. I've had them in for 8 months...not a single squeak. Just smooth, accurate travel.
