Question Rocker delete? Oil line mounts? Need advice

Hi,
I'm toying with the idea of leaving the rocker panels off my resto project but I have no idea how the oil cooler lines mount to the car... are they self tapping screws or something else. I bought my car as a roller and it was disassembled when I got it. The mounting holes/tabs or whatever are gone or have been welded shut by the PO.
The biggest question I have is: What to do about the factory jack points on either side that sick out like a sore thumb if I go ahead and leave the rockers off.

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I can't seem to find much info or pictures on this.

Thanks

Here's my rocker delete.

I reused the clamps and installed blind bushings in the tub.

I've left the rockers off too, and the fact that there are jack points visible doesn't bother me any more than does the fact there are lugnuts visible. They're all part of the car.

As for fastening the oil lines to the car, they are held in place by rubber-cushioned clamps shaped like a B without the vertical. I don't remember whether they're secured to the body by big sheetmetal screws or bolts, but each of the clamps is held to an established bracket that should be easily visible (unless somebody cut them off). They don't just nestle up against the sheetmetal. And of course there are several clamps in the front right wheelwell, along the back side and up top.

Thanks for this info. I have no obvious brackets so they either do not exist or have been removed. It seemed odd as I have an oil cooler for the car. (Late Carrera type) Perhaps the PO purchased it for future installation? The car was originally a Euro car so maybe it didn't come with a cooler. Now I just have to decide whether or not to use rockers.
Thanks all

What I like about the rocker-delete option--aside from the minimal weight saving--is the "industrial" look of the car--the exposed oil lines, which of course give the magpies among us (lovers of shiny objects) something else to polish. I think it looks sort of neat in the same way a steam locomotive with all the exposed workings looks more interesting than a common diesel.

Of course this is anathema to many people, and good for them. Takes all kinds.

Steve has given you all the pertinent information. The brackets (or securing points for the line clamps) he mentioned are the same ones that secure the bottom of the aluminum rocker trim. If the trim had been removed when you got the car, then it is possible the PO also cut off the securing points which were nothing more than small sheet metal pieces shaped like an inverted "U" that had a squared bottom, and stands about 3/4" off the bottom of the floor pan. If you look under the car at the locations of the trim points, you should see where they have been removed--possibly now covered by undercoat. You should be able to fab some replacements to hold the clamps for the lines once you see what they look like. They simply hold the sheet metal screws that secure the line clamps. You will also need some nylon spacers (like thick washers) that go betweed the clamp and the securing bracket--again, like the ones used to secure the rocker trim, but thinner.
