SWB upper strut mounts ??

all;
pic below is taken from my '66 (912 is it makes a difference)
trying to determine is this is the non-adjustable strut mount. my understanding is that early cars were not adjustable, but this changed at some point during the '66 MY. more pix posted on request.
any help appreciated.
best
jerry

What's your chassis number?? Up to 302695 had non adjustable mounts. These look like the adjustables to me, but I might be wrong.. Per a thread on 911s site..

The factory repair manual states in the wheel alignment section:
"Caster and camber cannot be adjusted on vehicles up to chassis serial number 302.694, as well as on Chassis Nr. 302.736 and 302.805." I imagine that was when the change kicked in?

will have to investigate further, but i'm inclined tro agree with you that they are adjustable. my car is Karmann bodied & doesn't fall into the numbering scheme above. thanks for your feedback!

Jerry,

You have adjustable caster/camber. You do not fall into the earlier non-adjustable version.

My dad took Factory (Tourist) delivery of a non-adjustable, 5-instrument 912 in ’66.

Best,
Grady

This is what a non-adjustable strut top looks like (my late 1965 production shell)

I wonder if there are equivalent chassis numbers for the change to the 912 bodies? I have not seen such numbers, but I cannot imagine that the 912 did not have the non-adjustables.

There certainly is: the red car you see above is a 912. I don't know the 912 cutoff number, however.
