Are H4s with Chrome Rings Paintable?

I don't think I like the look of Chrome on my H4s... Can they be painted if I take them to a body shop?

Thanks!

The chrome would have to be stripped off. You probably are better off buying some primered ones and having them painted. Keep the chrome ones for when you change your mind.

I'd grab a set of primered trim rings that mount over top of the chrome assembly. You'll need a pair of special set screws to mount them (all available from our host).

Can't paint chrome. At least not successfully, and not without roughing it up enough that you might just as well remove it.

Painted rings will fit over the chrome rings.

Just bead-blast the chrome off the trim rings.

I like the painted trim ring covers better, though.

Found the Ring Part #: 911-631-141-00-M260

Can someone confirm which screw I need? I see an "Outer" and an "Inner" screw. Do I just need the outer screw or both?

Thanks!

Gerry

There are a lot of old posts on this - but you'll need two screws, the first holds the assembly to the fender, the second screws into the first to hold the trim ring on.

I'll trade you a set of paintable rings all-ready stripped and primed. I have the h4 (under) rings not the covers.
These have been stripped down (brass) and have a light coat of primer on them, I would primer them better for shipping they are a but scuffed from the box they were in ,easy fix. If you want a coat of black on em I can spray them, screws are intact.
