Couple oddball questions for everyone...

I read a post about adding a spring to gate the 1-2 shift positions, how is this done?

Also,
My carrera is a cab, so why do i have the rear defrost knob next to my fog light knob above my stereo? It lights up when i pull it, but i dont hear anything happen. If it's not used, i may make it a kill switch to prevent theft.

The spring trick for the 915 shifter is in this thread.

I did it and love it. My shifter is a customized by piece made from factory bits.

The defrost knob, I believe, is standard even if you don't have the function. Good idea on teh killl switch. SHow us what you come up with.

I installed the spring and love what it's done for the "feel" of my shifter.

Here are some pics of my shifter with the spring added. I went a step further and used some shrink-wrap to quiet the "springy" noise as it moves around. Almost silent now.

Do you have a heated windshield or heated mirrors?

You won't hear them working by the way.

Hmmmm. What does a defroster sound like when it's on?

It sounds like fewer engine RPMS.
