Help finding random switch

Hi All,

I have an idea for my project's inner door handles. I want to have the trigger to open the doors from the inside of the car, hidden under a leather arm rest. I've imagined the type of trigger needed and drawn the following rough picture. Can anybody think of a car that had a part like this?

It'd be similar to the knobs you slide to recline the seats in an SC or 3.2 Carrera, but flat.

Thanks,
Adam

Doesn't even really need to be spring loaded, since the OEM door handles aren't.

What about looking at a "builder's hardware" catalog.

isn't builder's hardware more like... home door handles and taps?

I found this handle from a 360. Although not really ideal mechanically, the appearance is sort of what i'm after. I guess having the trigger pivot rather than slide would be ok too. Also, very pricey...

Anybody know about anything similar to this? Having less of a surround would be better too...

Not necessarily... If you get into expensive cabinet hardware there's a lot of different kinds of latches and pulls. I was just trying to get you to think out side of the box.

A machinist could make this part. I appreciate you would like an exotic solution for a cheap price. The surround of the above part could be cut down to meet your needs. I think you're going to have to do some retro fitting to any part you get to fit your requirements. That is the fun part...
