No heat
I am driving a 1987 911 and now with the cooler weather here I can't seem to get any heat on the right side of my car. The left half works great, but the right is cold.
I checked the vent under the car which does open and close, however the shut off is still only slightly in an open position. Even if it's slightly open on the left side I still get warm air there. My car still has the old leaver system on the floor as it the manual type. Anyone have any idea of what to check for next?? |

Adjust your flappers to be closed when the levers are in the "up" position. Just loosen the nuts and pull the cable whichever way it needs to go.
I checked mine and the PS was not closing completely allowing some of the heat to exit under the car rather come to the front. HTH

Sorry, thesr can be tuff to get to as you need to rrun the engine and get under it and move the levers. are the footwell blowers working?......

Likely a bad footwell blower or the fuse for it. If it will not blow, it can block the airflow.

no heat
Okay. Now I've gone through the flappers and they all work. The foot well blowers work as well. Now I drove the car today and I have noticed that the heat on the left side of the vents and dash is warm, however when I turn the heater fan dial on the floor it does not blow harder or warmer. When the car is moving the warm air blows a little more than when not moving. now I have checked all fuses and relays and they appear to be fine as well.
My next thought is to either pull the passenger seat out and check for any problems with the fan controller, or otherwise I will check the blower fan in the engine compartment. Any suggestions or thought on this, as I have ruled out almost everything else? Thanks to those who have replied with their suggestions. |

If it turns out the be the blower in the enginge compartment let me know. I just took my blower out of my 87...it was working perfectly....will make you a good deal on the blower.

t took me a while to get back to this as the weather has been really warm here.
I have checked all fans work, but there was a blown fuse for the engine compartment fan. It now blows. The problem now is that when lifting the left floor leaver, the warm air comes in and the fan at the rear blows as does the the left footwell fan. However when lifting the right floor leaver the rear fan comes on but the foot well fan does not. There is a little cold air trickling in on the right. I tested the fan and it works, the fuse is good, but not getting power to it. Could this have anything to do with the an controller?? Thanks |
