It's your cruise control servo or drive link.

Yes, I think the mystery part "is" the cooler with the red hoses.

lots of funny people here,...

the red hose and cooler are for my supercharger (see shinny bracket to the left).

Thanks Steely for the help. This thing has two vacuum hose connected to it. I was under the impression that the croise controle only came in for the 1987 model. I do not have the cruise control switch inside the car by the steering column,...

One line (the smaller one) is the vacuum the other is a vent/dump hose.

Cruise was offered for years and years. All my SC's had it. Every Carrera I've seen has it.

This is as she sits right now:

It's a Paxton kit, it was done by PO, I am still learning a great deal about it. There is no install manual available and Supercharging Of Knoxville (SOK) are no longer in business.

The blower pushes 5-6 lbs of boost at around 5k rpm, although not sustain it always comes as a burst and as rpm climbs boost drops afterward. Almost as if there was a leak in the system. I am trying to rule out everything, since I just rebuilt the blower, the engine has 68k miles and great comp test #s. No leakage through the intake silicone hoses. So my last recourse is to look at the all the vacuum hoses connected to the top power pipe above the throttle body. Such as all the junk tubing that feeds the brake booster, and the mystery part I asked about above.

I am lost and not seeing the full potential of my SC right now. Any help would be great.

Too bad about the turbo, dumb question - think the folks on the supercharger forum could help? Don't know jack about them myself (s-chargers that is). Am over in Horsham btw.
