Yep. We make both torque biaising and true ZF style LSDs for all variations of the 901/911 family of gearboxes.
Kind Regards, Matt Monson Guard Transmission LLC

I agree. Good stuff.
What is your use? The 901 transmission used a 904 ZF LSD that was very fragile. The later ‘901-like’ type 911 transmissions (’70-‘71) used the type 911 ZF LSD also used in the 915 & 930 (& 917) transmissions. Guard has great replacements. Best, Grady

Thanks guys. The support is appreciated.
Grady, You need to check your PM's and reply sometime! I'd like to grab lunch with you some day and just catch up. I've given up privately contacting you and am now taking it to the board at large...

Matt,
Tomorrow morning 11/14/09 at the VI Porsche breakfast. Panamera inspection (snow rides?). See you. Best, Grady

For all but the most aggressively driven street cars, the torque biasing differential is the way to go. It only offers power transfer during acceleration but unless you are diving really deep into the corners on the brakes you won't really miss the deceleration lock up the LSD will provide.
Furthermore, the TBD is service free because it's gear driven. A clutch type LSD is a service item just like your brakes or clutch. It's got friction surfaces that wear and need replacement down the road. It's around the same sort of service interval as a transmission rebuild, but it's there. With a TBD as long as you change your gear oil in a timely manner it will pretty much last you forever. Lastly, they are about 30% less expensive than the LSD.
