VDO Quartz clock

Does anybody know when VDO clocks changed from non-quartz to the Quartz type?

Thx!

VDO's January 1974 catalog shows both quartz and non-quartz clocks, and says "Many car manufacturers have changed their equipment to quartz time clock, such as Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW."

Randy,

Looking at the PET, I find:

1965 -> 1967 Part number 901-741-702-01 - I think this is the spring operated green faced unit;
1968 -> 1969 Part number 901-741-702-02 - I think this is the spring operated black faced unit;
1970 -> 1972 Part number 911-641-901-00 - I think this is another spring operated unit (if I am not mistaken, I recall PWD72S wrote that his '72 was sprng operated); and
1973 -> 19?? Part number 911-641-701-29 - This is a quartz unit like the original one in my car.

Thx - sounds like my '73.5 has a Quartz movement then...

thing is, it slows down in the winter, but not the summer
