It's not even a good parts car or roller since so much of the sheet metal is hosed. $7,000 is a lot of money for a clean '74 that isn't running. And how much demand is there for 2.7 cases? It makes perfect sense for someone to want to keep their their nice mid-year in original condition and rebuild their 2.7. However, if you need to do a transplant anyhow, a mag case would be a liability and wouldn't be cheaper if you factor in machining costs to the case.

I think the dealer omitted to mention the very desirable Euro side marker lights.

Haha. It makes me wonder about where some of the new porsches that have body kits on them now will be in 30 years. Seems that when you personalize a car to this degree, it damns the future of it.

WOW! I just don't know what to say. If it was a real S it is kind of a shame that it has been molested like this.

You guys are tough! A $7000 1974S (if is's real) could be a blast to own and driver. Sheet metal can be replaced. Paint is readily available. And it could be fixed up over time, as it's a RUNING car. What are your other choices to own a running Porsche for $7000?? A real rust bucket 914?

The "S" was the standard model that year. Plenty of those to go around.

Not sure where you're shopping for 914's, but in So Cal, for $7,000, you can buy an excellent rust free '73 914 2.0.

As for the '74 911S -- You could buy it for $7K, then put about $30K into the restoration, and finish with a terrific car worth about $12,000.

I think DaveC forgot the green type so I fixed it.

If that '74 is worth anywhere near $7K, my '74 must be one of those rare '74's worth at least $40K....

Holy Hell...what a POS !

With bondo coming off in large pieces, I think you can surmise what lies underneath. Take a look at the engine pic. The rust has overtaken the paint, there are a zillion extra wires (bypasssing everything) the interior is crap. It has a lot of expensive problems to overcome before it is worth anything close to 7k IMO

Yep, welcome the east coast of the united states....specifically the NYC metro area, including Long Island and NJ. Our pedigree of producing exceptional, custom, "one-of-a-kind" automobiles is without equal. Thanks to the diversity of our particular area vehicles of this class can be seen motoring the fine highways and byways on a daily basis. Our passion for fine cars of this caliber is matched only be our passion for mcmansions and suv's.

Welcome to the jungle.
