Cool

I understand that Motor Meister will be the US distributor and assembling these prior to shipping.

I like the clear shroud... That could be done in Poly Carbonate for a real engine. Something different!

I actually have one of these kits. It's unassembled, in the original packaging. The quality of the casting work is pretty amazing.

These kits were made by a Japanese company, Marushin, many years ago. They are long out of production and pretty rare. They tend to sell for $1-2,000, when one comes on the market.

They are a 1/8 scale metal kit of the 1973 Carrera RS engine. They are mostly assembled with small screws, and nuts and are fairly complete, down to individual pistons, rods, valves, cams etc. They can be made to operate via compressed air that is supplied to them by a tank that is part of the display stand.

Nice! Do the head studs pull out in scale too?

I bought it years ago. It's been so long that I don't remember who I bought it from. I have a bunch of other rare kits, so I might have bought it from a dealer that specializes in stuff like that.

Well, since it's never been built, I have the option of putting in better studs.

How about looking through Pelican's parts listings to see if you can find me some?

So does it produce 1/8 of 210hp?

Here's something I consider awesome...

http://www.fineartmodels.com/pages/product.asp?content_area=3&sub_area=11&product_area=85

I think I'm going to try & find a 1/200th scale kit, which usually goes about $500. It'll likely take me the better part of a year to futz around with it, but it'll be worth it in the end. I haven't done one of these in a number of years & never something this worthy.

Nichimo 1/200 model, modified:

Then there's the 1/10th scale model...
