SC Owners!!! Would you like an SCWDP badge for your grille?

Greetings fellow Plotters!

I have had a few people ask about another run of SCWDP badges over the last year. I have been working with the badgemaker and refining the badge a little (basically looks the same, but better finish than the originals I think). So here is the deal. I can get these made, but I have to order at least 50 to get them made. The cost should be about $40 shipped in the US, a little more for international. But like I said, have to start with 50 minimum order. I need to see how close to 50 we would be. Please post here if you are interested. Once I see if we are close enough, we can get things rolling. The badgemaker said it would be 4-6 weeks to get badges to me once order is placed.

I need to know how close to 50 we can get before next Sunday, 1/17/10.

Thanks! (Wayne said it was alright to post this - Thanks Wayne)

What are these and do they look like?

Here is the original:

Here is the new one (design anyway). Basically the same, but the black infill will now be a thicker enamel fill without the tecture in it. Some of the old badges had problems with the black area fading and peeling after being in the elements awhile. Also, the metal edge will probably be a brushed or satin finish like the new Pelican badges.

Oh yeah, we also modified the D in WDP a little to leave less questions like "what's the SCWOP"?

mca 01-07-2010 08:25 AM

I want two.

However, this is the third time I have submitted my request over the past 2 years. I get my hopes up ... then the project fizzles.

I would be willing to cover 1/2 of the cost to get 50 made if you are willing to handle the other 1/2. Then we can each take our 25 badges and sell them.

Let me know.

That is a nice offer. Also, I am sorry about you not being able to get one up to this point. Let me see how close can get to the 50 badges and I will decide. I will place a deadline on the interest gathering at the end of next week and let's see where we are.

Thanks

I thought Bob had sent out all of the decals already. Sorry about that. He has the decals and I have the shirts. We are working on fixing that. I will send you an email in a few minutes.

Solid idea. Gotta keep this message bumped. Maybe ask if it can be made sticky?

Superman 01-07-2010 10:31 AM

How much does it weigh?

Just kidding. Sort of. I've got a question: Does this replace the Porsche crest on the hood?

Not sure if the studs would match up or not... it was not designed to be though. We actually thought about it awhile, but thought it might be Porsche sacrilege. Might be too thick to look right anyway.

Can't remember the weight, but I can weigh one today.

myamoto1 01-07-2010 10:46 AM

Why would someone want a Sub-Carerra badge? ;)

for the same reason half the guys/gals out there want tubro brakes, suspension and stance. mine just happens to be a factory original, not a wanna-be SmileWavy

and in case you forgot, turbos were not imported to the states in '85

Norm Faustino 01-07-2010 09:12 PM

I'll take another one to go with my first. If it's as nice as it looks in the pic I'll replace my hood badge with it:)

uscarrera 01-08-2010 12:59 AM

OK I am in for 2 one to put on car and one to carry in my wallet!

Aha, our first official Plot Sheriff!

SCWDP911 01-08-2010 01:32 AM

OK, we are at 20 and counting. Thanks all. If it continues, I think we will make it to the magic number. Still working on the badgemaker on a lower run number, but he seems really stuck on 50 minimum.

I'm in for 1 too.

SCWDP911 01-09-2010 08:50 AM

Well, I think we will be able to do this folks! I think there will be a few more stragglers and then I will have a few to sell later as well through the SCWDP store. So here is the deal, I would like to do this like we did the first go around: pay now, deliver later. I promise you, you will get your badge(s) you order from me. But I do not like spending my money on verbal commitments on something like this (past experience). With the expception of one person, everyone who ordered a badge in the first edition of SCWDP badges, got their badges. One person sent his back due to a mounting problem (jwernquist - if you read this, one of these new badges has your name on it buddy).

So, I am asking y ou to trust me and I will follow through and get you your badge as soon as I get them. The manufacturer says about 6 weeks to deliver them to me, once ordered. So, if you have committed to buying one (or two) above, please send me an email with your preferred method of payment. I will accept check/money order, or Paypal. if paying by paypal, please add $1 to your total (helps with paypal fees), so a total of $41. Remember, the $40 price includes shipping in the US only. If outside US, add $5 please. If paying by check or money order, please email me with subject line SCWDP BADGE ORDER 2010, and let me know that is your method of payment and mail the payment to:

Shane Van Wey
SCWDP BADGE ORDER 2010
54 Brackenhouse
Jackson, TN 38305

If paying by paypal, please send me your email address for paypal and I will invoice you. Please let me know in your email if you are US or international please. If we can get the majority of the money together by next end of this week, I will place the order next Friday.

I hope this will work for everyone.

Thanks, Shane
