Fuel filter replace question.

I have my 101 book but I need to ask, when I replace the fuel filter, should I put some teflon tape on the treads?

No need for Teflon tape or anything else.

Just clean the threads and tighten it firmly but don't over tighten it.
>>> Good and tight but not to the point of deforming anything.

Don't let you fuel lines twist.

The seal is created by the bulb end of the fuel line sealing against the fuel filter.

As mentioned, don't stress the lines.

To avoid twisting the lines, use 2 wrenches: One to hold the filter by the hex on it, and the other wrench opens/closes the cap nut on the lines. If you position the 2 wrenches the right way, you can squeeze on both of them in a scissor-action to open and tighten.

Put a big rag under the filter because some fuel will leak out and a fire extinguisher nearby doesn't hurt.

Depending on what type filter you have, the nipple on the old one may have to be re-used.
Mark the date and Mileage on the new filter so you'll know in the future.
