Out of Patience with my Auto Heat!!!!!
Can I just buy the parts and convert my Auto-Heat to a manual system? I just can't see wasting all this time on analysis if I could just bolt in a manual system that would probably work a lot better.
If so, should I be able to find the parts at Hershey, or is stuff like this hard to find? Thanks so much.

Rip it all out and backdate it. You'll wonder why you waited!

I've never really needed to use my auto heat, just use it in manual mode.

It's almost as easy as you think. Remove the autoheat console and tuck the wires away. Now here is the catch, you will need two new heater cables because the auto heat system ties the two cables into one lead and it's not long enough to work with the manual levers.
I got some stainless steel wire from the hardware store and ran new lines from the flappers back. I also hooked my footwell blowers up to the switch attached to my manual levers.

I just popped the rod off the actuator and pull the handle ( one lever) manually.
If i want the blower on i just turn the dial.
