914/6 throttle linkage?

Anyone have some pics of how to setup the linkage for webers in a 914/6 conversion? Just looking for some ideas on how i can swing the cable around.

Thanks

Miles

when i put a 6 in my 914, i used the stock cable. i made an L bracket. the short end of the L had the hole for the cable, the long end had 2 holes. i bolted it to the strap that goes around the fan. i had to cut off the part on the cross bar that the cable attaches to and rotate and weld it back to the bar. dont weld it straight up, angle it towards the rear of the car. i set it so it had about the same amount of travel on both sides of straight up and down. this works very well. another benny is when adjusting the carbs, i could adjust the idle up with the nut on the cable to balance the linkage.

6 linkage

If you are going to go with the stock linkage set up I have the bracket/cable holder that attaches near the front of the transmission...it's for attaching/holding the stock cable. There is another bracket/holder that attaches to the rear of the transmission and holds the "bell crank", but that one can easily be fabricated...just need to make sure the geometry is correct to allow the linkage to function correctly. If you're interested in the part let me know...also I believe you should be able to get photos/information on the stock set up as well as "custom" applications by doing a search on the 914 forum or the host's 914 tech articles on 6 conversions? I believe your main problem with the stock set up will be locating all the parts which are unique to the 6...good luck.
