Steering Hub Slack - 71

I have a 71 911 and was experiencing some slop in my steering wheel - movement of the steering wheel up and down. I found that the column was missing the Spring and the UPPER column bearing was shot.

I removed the steering column and replaced the Lower and Upper bearing and installed a new spring.

After installation of all parts I am still experiencing some slack "up and down" and I can now also push the steering Wheel "in and out"...

It appears that the Hub is not "seating" or resting on the New Upper Bearing all the way.

Anyone have any insight to give?

Anyone have a picture of a Stock hub... My steering wheel is aftermarket and I believe that the Hub is also...
