Stupid hood latch adjustment question
The hood latch on my '87 Carrera has been adjusted for a nose bra and I'd like to re-adjust it so that the hood closes tighter without the bra (I don't use one). There are two hex-head bolts that secure the latch, with the heads facing towards the rear of the car. I loosened those hoping that I'd be able to lower the latch a bit, but I don't see any slots in which the latch can slide in order to be repositioned. What am I missing? Sorry, I did a search but didn't find anything and I've got the Bentley manual on order but haven't received it yet, so you guys are all I've got

It'll move.
Loosen the bolts slightly and tap it gently with a piece of wood or a plastic hammer. A little goes a long way here. The trick is too not get it too far out of whack as it moves up/down and side to side so it will affect your hood gaps at the fenders. I would try to mark it somehow in the current position.

also, check to see if spacers were used on the hood latch...not the receiver end, but washers between the latch and the hood. That's what I would do to allow the bra to fit.
