Internal vs External Regulation!

Ok,
Without getting into the manual, I know where the internally regulated alternators regulator is, my question is:
Where is the externally regulated alternator's regulator on a 1975 911S USA model?
Thanks
eric

Ok,
Follow up, no external regulator to be found anywhere! I am gonna assume that I have an internally regulated alternator. Next question is which alternators will work/fit?
Thanks
eric

I have that same proplem now. Some time my car was changed from an external to a internal regulator. Have no idea what's in there now but it is stilll working! So, Boom, get the one that fits a 1975 with internal regulator. I'm thinking there all the same physical size.
