Pelican Parts The Old Posts Are Back!!!

Yes indeed folks it's true, even I impressed myself on my ability to get these into the database (that's hard to do, considering I'm rarely impressed by anything!).

I was able to 'fake' the UBB board into giving up the old posts using an import routine.

Don't believe me? Here is Post Number 1:

http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28702

Wow, now that brings back memories. Looks like we had about 15 posts over 3 months! Now we get 15 posts in about a 1/2 hour during the busy times.

Kind of brings a nostalgic tear to your eye *sniff*

Wayne,

I am having the same situation as the last poster. I tried searching for "ssi heating" and not one post. Narrowed it down to "ssi" and not one return. Then plugged in 911 and it came back with three hits... three hits out of how many postings?

Something is not working here, its not accessing the old postings. Every one of the three hits (above) were from the "new" forum and posts within the last 24 hours, nothing new.

Ideas or what are we doing wrong?

BTW, am really happy with the new format! Took a bit to get used to but now its easy to use and nice to navigate through everything. Good move and I hope that it works better for you and the business.

Remember that you are married BTW!!! Turn the computer duties over to someone else from time to time, stop drinking the coffee to stay awake working on the BBS and spend some time with the wife! Mrs. Pelican is a part of all this and remember that "when mommas not happy, no ones happy"... and we want Wayne happy.

Thx,

Oh yes, I can guess it. I think that one can get lost in to a dark sector of a hard drive....to never be found again....

Porsche Crest

I'm with Saffs on particular thread! It could actually dissapear and not many folks would complain!

Now for a final test of the reindexing ...

'hysteresis brakes' should have more than one 'hit' this year ...

I went back to look at some of the earliest posts this morning. There was a V8 one even back then. Great job Wayne!!
