Brake fluid question

Hi, I have 1986 930 turbo and on my brake fluid reservoir I have sticker telling to use dot 3 brake fluid only. I have heard that high dot brake fluid is more aggressive and can malt brake hoses for old cars.

What is your experience about this question?

thank you

I think the Dot 3. was the good stuff at the time, there are some issues on the silicone stuff but not std as I know.
Go for the ATE Blue for a street application with some track and you will be fine.
I am dure others willl chime in.

Regards

Any DoT 3 or 4 b/f will do fine, use the DoT 4 if you have heat issues otherwise the factory fill ATE type 200(either blue or yellow) is fine

if using DoT 4, prices are all over the place

bang for the buck is Motul RBF600 2 ~ $15/liter, current Cups use Endless RF600 @~$45/liter most expensive is Castrol SRF @ ~$70/liter

DOT 3 is not your only brake fluid option. 4 and 5.1 is also acceptable, but complete flush first.

Read up on-line search google

Use this: http://www.meistersatz.com/pentosin/pressreleases/RacingBrakeFluid.pdf About $16 in Cincinnati - $23 on line

ATE Blue or ATE Gold should be just fine for your car. No need to go crazy.

both wet and dry boiling points are also all over the place, fluid starts to turn wet fairly quickly so i key off that # more than the dry #

ATE Super Blue Racing/ATE TYP 200 DoT 4 536/392

Castrol SRF DoT 4 590/518

Motul Racing 600 DoT 4 585/421

Wilwood EXP600 Plus DoT 4 633/417

Endless RF650 DoT 4 622/424

again if you don't have heat issues you don't need more expensive/exotic b/f
