"This is a 1968 porsche 912. It started life as a 912 coupe. It is now a 911 targa."

In other words, someone hacked it up - either as a result of a crash or as a result of "911 Targa envy" with their 912 way back when... I'm guessing the former due to the fact it's salvage titled.

I wouldn't touch it with someone else's 10-foot-pole, personally. Sounds like complete rubbish to me. From the look of the pictures that car is in need of many thousands of dollars of work to be viable.

OMG, what a total abortion.

But for $2500, a shrewd parts aficionado ***might*** be able to turn a profit on this miserable creature.

Why do I always get scared when someone is selling a car for a friend?

...more than a friend, but a "buddy." So... this guy is selling a car with no title for a buddy. Ya.... right!

I take back my earlier statement...after looking at all of the photos, it'd be hard to get $1000 for much off of that bucket 'o' rust.

hahaahaa, I really do like that "turbo" badge on the engine compartment!!! Probably adds more to that hoopty than the Targa bar!!!

Probably because the fibreglas fenders are installed in the wrong location.

Flared fenders for a long wheelbase car grafted on to a short wheelbase car - hence the "rimz" not being centered in the fender opening.

I don't understand you guys running this down -- there is a lot good there. What other Targa has venting rear quarter windows? Porsche tried it but couldn't get it to work.

I can't wait for the next car like this - probably will be a coupe converted into a cabrio, with a targa bar as a rear spoiler/air-foil, or maybe has two targa bars for front and rear bumpers.

that is really dreadful.

from the ad......
" Over seas buyer's welcomed. if you are not a dead beat, and you do not ask for weird stuff as a picture of my buddy that owns the car or a picture of the title etc."

i wonder if his buddy was camera-shy for the high school yearbook pictures too.
