Brake Pedal Free Travel

Hi All

I am trying to adjust my brake pedal free travel.

Is the pushrod from the pedal cluster to the master
cylinder connected at the MC end, or is it free to
rotate with a ball on the end pushing against a
spherical seat but no acutal containment.

The pushrod head goes over the actuating shaft on the pedal cluster, and the nut below it is surely for adjustment. Unfortunately is is completely frozen. I am trying to adjust this without taking the MC/Cluster out of the car.

Under the best of circumstances If the nut came loose
could I then rotate the shaft out of the contained head on the pedal cluster thereby reducing free travel?

thanks

Mark
