911SC oil line repair

Hit a pothole rather hard, now the line/hose above the rear driver side wheel is hissing air, but no oil. Any short term repair suggestions before I start the "should I go ahead and replace them all with steel braided hoses" debate? Thanks.

you have to get that fixed soon. they are brass and if you remove the injured tube and take it to a radiator shop, they can braise a patch on there. You don't need braded hose, unless you want to do that. The hard lines are stronger.

Thanks. It's actually one of the two black rubber hoses that stretch the cars length that got punctured. Do I not have that right?

is it on the left or the right? Left side is the A/C hoses, right is the oil lines. If it's hissing I think thats the A/C hoses.
Oh yeah, re read your post, it's the A/C hoses. Do you use it? if not might be a good time to yank it all out. repair can be costly.
And, I noticed that your car is 1" lower than euro specs?

You said rear drivers side............

The black rubber hose stretching the length of the car on the drivers side is the A/C hose...........thus the hissing air no oil scenerio.

I guess I need not point out my 911 ignorance. My apologies, A/C lines.

No, I don't use the A/C at the moment but would like to in the summer. Any short term suggestions? It kills me to drive this car with anything broken.

you can introduce dirt and contaminants into the A/C system that would be hard to clean out. the system should only have refrigerant and oil in it. Some of the lines are quite long and I think there still available (for a price). And you have to get it recharged.
I took mine out and I still have them if you locate the ruptured hoses, give me a picture and I can send you mine.

Is there is a temporary fix or dare I say... "patch" job until I can address the A/C line this Spring?

you can tape it up and don't use it till fixed, that should work.
