Brake caliper - m versus s
Hi
I need to overhaul my brakes and I need the restore kits for the calipers... My question is: Is there an easy way to differentiate the m-model versus the s-model... besides the fact that the one is steel the other is not?. Is there any stamps/markings etc. I have a 911E from 1969 imported to Denmark from US - and the calipers are stock. Im pretty sure the 911S models are issued with s calipers... and 911T are with m... but what about the 911E? Thanks Soren |

Measure the mounting holes for the calipers--M calipers have holes @3" on center and S and A calipers mount with holes 3.5" on center.

M calipers are steel--put a magnet on them. S calipers are aluminum. All you need to know.

Haha.... thank you so much for the answers... I especially like the one with a magnet... always keep it simple. Thanks again

Compensating Lines
If you see compensating lines, they're S-Calipers.
