Shifter bushings g50 question for reverse
Hi all
my 89 930 is to easy to go in reverse .I often want to go to first but goes in reverse . What part of the shifter should give resistance when going in reverse? Thanks |

I'll preface by saying that hopefully this isn't a stupid answer, but I think it's actually the transmission (via the shifting rod) that provides the resistance, not the shifter. Here's a pic of mine before I cleaned it up. When disconnected from the trans shifting rod, it pivots very freely in 2 dimensions. HTH

It is all internal in the G-50. I would disconnect the rear shift coupler and see how easy it is to get it into reverse by hand. It should be pretty hard to get it to move over past the detent. Possible detent issue in the transmission.
