Rear Deck 911 Emblem

This one is for the older porsche model owners. I guess more of a trivia question.

In what year did Porsche use the gold 911T rear deck emblem? 1971? 1972? 1973? I have a 1973.5 T with the PORSCHE rear deck lettering in gold plate and have a chance to buy a gold 911T emblem to replace the silver existing one. Pretty combo. I want to keep the car as original as I can and my sales brochures do not show a gold emblem on any of the photo models. Was this an aftermarket item or a dealer option? Anyone know?

Thanks
Bob

The gold emblem was an option.

I've got one. Are all the "Carrera" emblems on the back of the 3.2 cars plastic and stick on? No posts, just sticky tape. I was surprised to find mine that way and now know why it always looked like it was in the wrong place. I thought how can somebody screw up placement when there are two holes in the metal? Are they all plastic?

RJ, you could always put a SC emblem on your Carreara. They are held on but screws and would give your car a little extra class and style
