Oil Warning Light coming on with gauge lights

I recently took the oil pressure gauge out of my 87 Carrera and noticed that my oil warning light now comes on when I turn on the gauge lamps (turn headlight knob clockwise) and turns off when I turn them off (turn headlight knob counter-clockwise). I'm a new Porsche owner and don't remember this happening in the past (but I've never driven it at night until recently). Is this normal? Or did I plug in a wire wrong when I reinstalled the gauge?

Nevermind, lol. I must've plugged the gauge socket into the oil light sensor socket...this would explain why the top of the gauge is dark...and why the light goes out when I turn the gauge lights off, lol (shakes head)....it's late, need to go to bed.
